Resort altitude: 1300 m
The beautiful mountain resort of Villars at 1300m is one of the most popular resorts in the Swiss Alps. The village can be reached by rail or car and at only 90 minutes by car from Geneva airport it is easily accessible. The charm and character of the village is carefully maintained thanks to the strict building regulations in this area. It is an upmarket resort but unspoilt, a good destination for all ages.
Set on an open, sunny plateau the resort offers an excellent centre for both summer and winter holidays. Four alpine ski areas are connected and covered by the one ski pass, Villars, Gryon and the 3000m glacier. There has been a significant investment in recent years and 46 modern lifts cover the ski domain Together with the sister resorts of Leysin and La Mosse a total of over 220 km of ski runs are covered with the hands free ski pass.
The summer attracts plenty of holiday makers. Activites include horse riding, golf at the 18 hole golf course, swimming in the indoor and outdoor pools and tennis. Lake Geneva is 20 minutes away by car and is a great place to go for swimming and water sports.
The village is busy all year round, a good resort to visit in all seasons. Some people may have heard of Aiglon College, the British international boarding school which is based in the village.
